PINE BELT, MS (WDAM) - Thursday will start off cloudy with passing drizzle and light rain. The clouds may break up a bit into the afternoon with a few pokes of sun here and there. We may see a few showers develop in the afternoon again given the daytime heat. Highs will be around 70. Rain chance around 40 percent.
Friday will be mainly dry with only a few passing showers mixed into the passing clouds. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.
Saturday the next storm system rolls through. This could bring with it the chance for strong to severe storms too. High temperatures will be in the mid 70s before the rain moves through in the early afternoon.
Right now the main threats with any storms that develop will be heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty wind and small hail. A tornado can't be ruled out at this point, but it isn't one of the main concerns.
Sunday, after the clouds clear out int he morning, should be quite nice. Highs in the mid 60s with passing clouds in the afternoon.
Monday looks to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s. No real chance for rain.
