Woman released after questioning in Hattiesburg homicide

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg police have released a woman after questioning in an ongoing homicide investigation.

Annie Hinton, 32, was questioned in a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Avenue on Feb. 6. No charges were filed and the investigation is ongoing, according to Hattiesburg police.

Forrest County Coroner Burch Benedict said 42-year-old William Deshun Myers was killed in the shooting.

Police responded to the shooting just before 2:00 p.m. last Wednesday and found Myers suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the Forrest General Hospital Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced dead.
