ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) – The honors keep rolling in for Jones College tennis coach Brooks Buffington.

Buffington, who guided the Lady Bobcats to a berth in the 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association’s national tournament, was named the 2018 United States Professional Tennis Association’s Coach of the Year/Mississippi Chapter.

The Lady Bobcats finished 15-3 in 2018, winning state and Region 23 championships.

Buffington, who is entering his third season as head coach of the Bobcats, also was recognized as:

  • 2018 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College’s Women’s Coach of the Year
  • 2018 Region 23 Women’s Coach of the Year
  • Mississippi Association of Coaches’ 2018 Coach of the Year
  • Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Region III 2018 Coach of the Year

Jones College opens the 2019 season Wednesday at East Central Community College.
