Pine Belt well-represented on All-Star basketball teams

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The 2019 Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Basketball roster has been announced and a number of Pine Belt players were invited.

John Rawls of East Marion will suit up for the Mississippi boys team while Hattiesburg head coach Ernie Watson serves as an administrative coach.

South Jones guard Jordan Clark was named to the girls team. The game is scheduled for Friday, March 15 at Dunn Oliver Acadome in Montgomery, AL.

The 2019 North/South All-Star Basketball Game released its roster as well on Thursday. Here’s a look at some of the players representing the Pine Belt on the South teams.

South 1A/2A/3A team (Boys):

  • Colston Daniels - Jeff Davis
  • Javen Holloway - Jeff Davis
  • Randarius Hughes - Heidelberg
  • Daylan Lindsey - Bay Springs
  • Hershey McLaurin - Collins

South 4A/5A/6A team (Boys):

  • Cameron Brown - Hattiesburg
  • Nick Walker - Hattiesburg
  • Caleb McGill - Petal
  • Treylan Smith - Petal

South 4A/5A/6A team (Girls):

  • Brikayla Gray - West Jones
  • Melyia Grayson - Hattiesburg
  • Mack Gardner - FCAHS (coach)

The North/South game is set for Saturday, March 23 at A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton.
