JACKSON, MS (WDAM) - Gov. Phil Bryant has set the date for a special election to fill the Mississippi House of Representatives District 101 seat vacated by Brad Touchstone.
The special election will be held on March 12, 2019. Candidates must qualify by Jan. 21. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in the March special election, a runoff will be held on April 2.
Touchstone resigned from his District 101 post on Jan. 1 after being elected to serve as Lamar County Court Judge in November 2018. Touchstone had represented District 101 since 2016.
The District 101 seat will be up for grabs again in November’s general election.
