HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - After two days of watching and waiting, the New Orleans Saints finally know who they’ll be playing in a National Football Conference Divisional Playoff Round.
The Saints (13-3), the top seed in the NFC, will welcome the sixth-seeded Philadelphia Eagles to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at 3:40 p.m. Sunday.
The Eagles (10-7), the defending Super Bowl champions, advanced to the divisional round with a 16-15 victory Sunday over the third-seeded Chicago Bears (12-5) in an NFC Wild Card game.
The Eagles and Saints met during the regular season on Nov. 18, with New Orleans taking a 48-7 decision at Philadelphia.
Wild cards won three of the weekend’s four, first-round games, including both winners in the American Football Conference.
In the AFC, where the sixth-seeded Indianapolis Colts (11-6) took down the third-seeded Houston Texans (11-6) 21-7 Saturday and the fifth-seeded Los Angeles Chargers (13-4) held off the fourth-seeded Baltimore Ravens (10-7) 23-17 Sunday.
In Saturday’s NFC match up, the fourth-seeded Dallas Cowboys (11-6) outlasted 24-22 the fifth-seeded Seattle Seahawks (10-7).
Four games this weekend will decide the teams playing for conference championships and a spot in Super Bowl LIII.
Saturday, the Colts visit the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs (12-4) at 3:35 p.m. on WDAM, followed by Dallas traveling to the second-seeded Los Angeles Rams (13-3) at 7:15 p.m. on FOX.
Sunday, the Chargers will visit the second-seeded New England Patriots (11-5) at 12:05 p.m. on CBS, with the Eagles at the Saints waiting in the wings.
